EDITORIAL TRANSPARENCY
How AI Tools Galaxy Researches Tool Guides
This methodology explains what a source-checked guide means, what it does not mean, and why the public library is intentionally limited to 16 profiles. The goal is to help a reader make a better decision, not to manufacture a large number of pages.
Publication gate
A new page is eligible only when it answers a distinct user need and can include all four elements below:
- Official evidence: product, documentation, pricing, privacy, terms or repository pages controlled by the provider or project.
- Decision context: the audience, task, platform and risk that make the product relevant.
- Practical evaluation: a repeatable test a reader can run without exposing sensitive information.
- Limits: uncertainty, plan differences, safety concerns and facts that still need provider confirmation.
A name, category and outbound link alone are not enough. Imported name-only entries, copied descriptions and automatically expanded keyword pages are excluded from the public build.
Research workflow
- Define the user question the page must answer.
- Open the official product page and at least two relevant first-party sources, such as documentation, a plan page, privacy policy, terms or source repository.
- Separate stable facts from plan-dependent or time-sensitive claims.
- Write an independent explanation in original language and avoid copying provider marketing text.
- Create a practical test with a known baseline, measurable outcome and privacy-safe input.
- Check internal links, metadata, structured data, page language, mobile layout and source URLs.
- Record the review date. A later edit changes the date only when the page was actually reviewed.
Labels used on the site
Source-checked editorial guide
The editor reviewed the linked first-party sources and added independent decision context and evaluation steps. This label does not claim the product was used in a laboratory or under every available plan.
Hands-on test
This label is not currently used. It may be added only when the page documents the device, account or plan, test date, inputs, observed outputs and material limitations. A marketing screenshot or provider demo is not a hands-on test.
Sponsored or affiliate content
No current ranking is sold. If a commercial relationship is introduced, the disclosure must be visible near the affected link or recommendation and cannot change the factual review standard.
Accuracy, AI assistance and human responsibility
AI may assist with outlining, consistency checks or language cleanup, but it is not treated as a source. Factual claims must be tied to suitable evidence, and generated wording must be reviewed for unsupported conclusions, repetition and false certainty. Important provider claims are linked so readers can inspect the original context.
The site avoids numeric ratings because a single score hides task, plan, price, privacy and platform differences. Comparisons should explain trade-offs and let the reader decide which factor matters.
Updates, retirement and corrections
A page is updated when a material feature, plan, policy, ownership or official destination changes. A page is retired when its product no longer has a verifiable destination, its intent duplicates a stronger guide, or it cannot provide enough independent value. Retired URLs return a clear permanent response instead of redirecting unrelated pages to the homepage.
Correction reports are reviewed against primary evidence. A valid correction updates the visible text, source list, metadata and review date in the same release. Send a report through the contact page.
